Cultural and Tourist Museum of Warping Tug Boat

Based in the previous roadmender house at the beginning of the Nivernais Canal, the Warping Tug Boat Museum is pleased to welcome you.

Five films about the history of inland water transport, navigation, the river Loire, the Nivernais Canal and tug boat will be shown. An animated scale-model presenting the different watercourses will be added to this showing. [ Read more ]

Mine Museum and Glénons Mine Shaft

Based in the former administrative headquarters of “Coal Mines”, the Museum traces the history of coal and miners’ way of life (deep inside, lunch break, tragedies, entertainment). The Museum houses items, photographs, scale-models left by former miners. You will also find the directors’ office, a map room, a scale-model of the town, collections of minerals and fossils found in the subsoil, a collection of miners lamps and suggestions about worker housing. Burgundy – Salvador Dali exhibition in Pommard Castle

Today like yesterday, both art and art of living always have been compatible in Burgundy. This will be seen once more this year in Pommard, not far from Beaune, on the Fine Wine Route (Route des Grands Crus) often described as “Burgundy’s Champs-Elysées”.

Pommard Castle, beautiful building of the 18th century in a 49 acres prestigious vineyard, will hold an art exhibition dedicated to Salvador Dali. This year is the 20th anniversary of his death. [ Read more ]
