Once again this year this fascinating town, located south of Jura mountains area and at the heart of a natural regional Park, will display creativity and energy to celebrate this unique event dedicated to children and parents who are still a child at heart ! So, every weekend before Christmas, the town of Moirans-en-Montagne goes with the flow of street arts, shows, entertaining workshops… and turns into a full-scale playground !

Children of all ages are invited to Noël au Pays du Jouet (Christmas in the land of Toys) a must see-event which is the opportunity for them to put forward all their creative skills through educational and entertaining workshops, such as the Christmas Workshop to make a rocking horse or a Christmas shoe for instance. There will be also indoor and outdoor shows with tales, music and puppets.

Overall, almost 30 quality shows performed by 10 companies and artists will entertain people. For 3 days visitors will also have the opportunity to discover local know-hows and the Christmas market. Noël au Pays du Jouet is an event full of joy and celebration to be shared with the whole family.

A very special guest for this 2010 edition : the real Santa !

In Rovaniémi, Finland, in the polar circle lives Santa Claus. His house is located on a mount called “Mount Ear “, related to its ability to hear all year round the wishes of children worldwide.

It is indeed in Moirans-en-Montagne that his little friends the elves get very busy every day in secret workshops to make the toys so much expected by children on Christmas day… And this year, for Noël au Pays du Jouet especially on December 18 late in the afternoon, all children will have the chance to see Santa coming directly from the polar circle to collect all the toys he will have to give… A unique and intense moment to experience absolutely !!!

10 years, let’s celebrate ! the whole team of the festival is now bustling about to make this 10th anniversary a one-of-a-kind and unforgettable event. The Festival des Mômes (litterally Children Festival) carry on its way and will be held from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 August 2010, in the town of Montbéliard.

The Festival des Mômes is a cultural, educational and fun event dedicated to children from six months to thirteen years old. Both its uniqueness and friendliness make this festival a must attend event in the region this summer. Besides, in order to celebrate its tenth anniversary, the festival promises to be a very special event !

For its 7th edition, the Cercle des Jeunes Association of Bouverans invites you to join their Frog’n Rock Music Festival. It will be held on August 13, 2010, right at the heart of the village.

While having a clear rock focus, the festival also hosts a wide range of musical genres so that everyone can discover new music trends and top quality bands. Besides, the Frog’n Rock festival attaches much importance to local bands .

Guitar riffs, greasy rythms, explosive atmosphere… The 9th “Guerre du Son” Music Festival will be certainly once again a blast with a very special line-up.

With 2 growing local bands, 5 renowned French-German rock/metal bands, 1 new “highlight” band and a come-back to the festival’s jamaican roots, the “Guerre du Son” festival gets its identity better involved within the landscape of rock festivals for this summer in the region.

Power rock in the fields

Winner of the local springboard for new musical talents, Madjive will set the tone with its rock music while festival-goers will be waiting for the first top billing band, Black Bomb A and its intense rock, for a real live performance which will get hardcore music fans jumping.

More pop focused, Nada Surf’s enchanting melodies will be the opportunity to dive into the dark and soulful atmosphere of this New-York band, before letting play MXD, an electro-metal band from Switzerland, who will close the first show with a blasting live performance.

Tennisoap, second local pop band, will start Tuesday’s show, then will follow Rootz with their massive basses, guitars and brass instruments for a focus on jamaican music before the renowned bands performances.

By mixing the strength of metal, the rage of hardcore and the swing of rock’n'roll, Headcharger will set the tone before Shakaponk, a band from Berlin, will get the crowds jumping with their alternative ethno-rock strongly tainted with electro music. To finish, French band Aqme will close the show.

Music Day, also known in other countries as World Music Day, is held every year in France. This year, for its 29th anniversary, the event will put the spotlight on women… So let’s meet on Monday 21st June !

Be they music composers , opera singers, conductors, street singers, songwriters or DJs, the focus will be put on their creativity, their struggles and the deep and true nature of their music.

Since ancient times, women have always been an endless source of inspiration that has inspired the greatest melodies. Muses, singers or musicians, they take a leading part in the practice of this art. In order to pay a tribute to them, the 29th edition of Music Day in France will be focused on “music and women”.

This unifying theme will provide an opportunity for all artists, whether they are amateurs or professionals, to celebrate Music Day and women by interpreting compositions made by or for women … A large selection in prospect !

For one day and one night, French cities and towns will be swept away by all kinds of music, with concerts, free events and also the possibility of discovering amateur music players or singers in pubs and cafés.

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day (March 8th) and the World Poetry Day (March 21st), this 12^th edition of the Poetry Festival « Le Printemps des Poètes » in France will focus on the theme of women.

The inauguration evening will take place on Monday, March 8 at the Opéra Comique, with Dominique Blanc, Brigitte Fontaine and Carolyn Carlson.

Celebrated throughout France, the event will especially highlight the work of Andrée Chedid with the 2^nd Andree Chedid’s sung poem contest with Matthieu Chedid as the  president of the jury. The actress Dominique Blanc will be the sponsor of the event.

An original exhibition, entitled “au fil des mots”, will present a selection of poems having a focus on the theme of hope, body and love. These poems have been reinterpreted by designers and artists who bring their own graphic layout of a short text. The set will be embroidered by women of Swaziland, sick of HIV. This work will give them an income. About thirty works will be exhibited throughout the year 2010.

For its eighth anniversary, once again the « Culture Bar-Bars » festival will raise top line the artistic excitement offered by cafes and bars throughout the year. For 3 days, from November 26 to 28, 2009, more than 300 live shows with over one thousand artists will be offered in 105 participating bars and in 20 cities!

A state of mind.

The festival’s concept is simple: each bar owner has a set of favourite artists  who are in line with his place. The « Cafés Cultures » (Culture Bars) will offer many entertaining live shows: concerts, DJ nights, exhibitions, theater, games, impros, poetry. Therefore, each year there are as many different shows as there are participating bars.

Prevention is a priority at the heart of the festival.

The « Culture Bar-Bars » festival is also an opportunity to take preventive actions towards people. In partnership with associations specialised in prevention, the actions taken will deal with high-risk behaviours as well as taking people to the festival and driving them back home. Several actions will be taken: alcohol test kits, condoms, information materials as well as ear plugs will be given out to people and there will be a stand dedicated to  prevention (especially in Nantes).

To celebrate the Month of Documentary Film 10th edition, november is a must-attend event in France, French West Indies and abroad for documentary films.
