An innovative bicycle rental service has been operating in Paris since 15 July 2007: simple and efficient,Vélib’ adapts to all your needs in order to get around the city. You pick up a bicycle at one stop and drop it off at another.This self-service system operates 24h/7d. It is present in all areas of the city, and the maximum distance between two stops is 300 m. Moreover, there are more frequent stops next to major public transport areas or public amenities. Available from 14 years up, the fleet of more than 20,000 bicycles will give you the opportunity to explore every little corner of Paris, just like a true Parisian. They are now available in thirty neighbouring towns to discover the outskirts of Paris.

In order to explore Paris at your own pace, as free as a bird, you can use a bicycle, rollerblades, or even a Segway – the latest way to get around in the style of a nippy stand-up motorised scooter for children. However, real scooters for children (unmotorised) should not be forgotten since they are appreciated from all generations. Every Friday evening and every month’ third Sunday (in the morning), a bicycle ride is organised in the capital, leaving from the city hall (Hôtel de Ville). For rollerblading fans, a three-hour skating tour starting from the Tour Montparnasse draws over 15,000 participants every Friday evening. Leaving the car behind and touring the city on skates or bicycle is a great way to see Paris by night!
