Vaison-la-Romaine, Historic and Artistic Town

Located in the Haut-Vaucluse region, Vaison-la-Romaine is ideally situated between the Alps and the Mediterranean. The town lies at the foot of Mont Ventoux, the « giant of Provence », nestling in lush, fertile countryside, excellent for a mellow lifestyle.

Artistic and historic town, Vaison-la-Romaine is renowned for its archeological and cultural heritage, extending from the Middle Ages to modern days, but the name of the town « la-Romaine » is certainly much known and owes its reputation to Antiquity. The Gallo-Roman remains, located on several sites, are France’s biggest archeological area opened to public.
