In order to travel differently within the city, Paris has created a new link of public river transport called Voguéo, which opened in June 2008. It is the first river passenger transport link. Extending over 9 km and with 5 stops, it links the Austerlitz train station with Maisons-Alfort locatted on the doorstep of Paris. Like Venice vaporetti water buses, the Batobus is an original way of discovering Paris and enjoying a boat ride along eight stops: the Eiffel Tower, the Orsay Museum, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Notre-Dame, Jardin des Plantes, Hôtel de Ville, Louvre and Champs-Élysées.
