Until May 9, 2010, the Arts Decoratifs Museum presents « Il était une fois Playmobil » (i.e. « once upon a time … Playmobil »). The history of the famous small plastic people figures, which in a few decades have become some of the most popular toys in France, is recalled in a 4-area exhibition.
Ever since its creation, this little character has evolved by adapting to modern life while taking into account the worlds in which children picture themselves. The exhibition is a way for both parents and children to go back over time together and share memories. Big Playmobil figures will let them in before they discover the brand’s most iconic worlds. The Arts Décoratifs Museum’s toy gallery will be bringing these worlds together, from yesterday to today’s knights, pirates and vikings, wild animals and pets as well as recreating the world of circus and life at home. Hundreds of other characters will be presented in decors specially made by Playmobil.
There will be many activities for children:
- « En avant les histoires » 2-hour workshops aimed at 4-6 years old and 7-10 years old. They will have the opportunity to design their own decors and playmobil worlds.
- « Home by Playmobil » tour: for 1h30, children will explore the house world and its objects through playing, staging and dialogue with Playmobil figures and accessories.
- Birthday parties in the exhibition: 2 to 3 hours; group limited to 15 children.
